Competitive Cheer: Destination 2024-25

Competitive Cheer: Destination 2024-25

With the 2024 Competitive Cheer season coming to an end, two seniors have finished their last season of high school competitive cheer. The two seniors leaving are Jennifer Lambers and Izzy Ruggles. These two seniors brought energy and a sense of family to the team, and they will be missed.

The team will have to make obvious but small changes to fill in the gaps left by the seniors graduating. The team is very young, primarily freshmen and sophomores, and with that, the team has a lot of potential and time to grow. The 2 juniors returning as seniors next year will have to take on big roles as leaders heading into next season.

Now that the season is officially over, it is time for individuals to focus on their own personal improvements to bring back to the team, and ready to make a difference. They will also need to work together in the off-season to improve trust in one another.

One challenge they might face is filling the spot Jennifer Lambers had as the voice of the team. With a younger team, this could be challenging, but with plenty of sophomores returning as juniors next year, this problem should quickly be solved.

As well as the team being young, the coaches are young as well. This was the first year for coach Angie Kidwell which gives the team a lot more potential to continue to grow off the 2023-2024 season.

Overall they have work to do in the off-season to continue to grow closer as a team, but this team being large and young, has lots of potential to do great things going into next season.
