Girls Basketball: Destination 24-25

After falling short to the Holland Chrisitan Maroons in the district semifinals, the Lady Hawks wrap up their season. Looking ahead into the future, this team is only losing two seniors. Yes, their presence on the court will be missed and unmatched, it’s time for a new wave of young athletes to step up. The girls will most likely be bringing in 3 new sophomore additions in Brooklin Cooper, Ally Van Ommen, and Brooke Petroelje. These 3 girls have proved themselves more than worthy to play at that next level.

With Kaitlyn Geurink going into her senior year, you know she’s going to try to go out with a bang. Being the team’s leading scorer and rebounder, she will do anything in her power to bring home a district championship. Having such a young team can help tremendously, being in different game scenarios and situations early can prove helpful. Leah Brink and Emma Slotman will return for the Lady Hawks as sophomores and in more of a leader role on the team.

When looking into the future of basketball here in Hamilton, you can expect to see some very familiar faces along with some new younger faces in hopes to get Hamilton back to its winning ways when it comes to basketball.
