The 2025-26 Varsity Competitive Cheer season is about to start, so it is time to know what comes along with it.
Our cheerleaders have been practicing since the beginning of November, and are giving it all to represent our school on the mats this year.
Teamwork and disciplined practice aren’t just traditions, they’re the heart of the sport. Every routine depends on precise coordination, trust, and communication, whether when stunting or hitting tumbling passes. Long, demanding practices allow the team to refine timing and technique, reducing the risk of injury while elevating their performance.
Coaches emphasize repetition, collaboration, and accountability because even the smallest mistake can affect the entire team. In a sport where unity determines success, hard work and strong team bonds remain essential.
Clearly, teamwork is essential to deliver a great performance during practices and competitions, and this year’s cheerleaders know how to support each other as a team.
The senior Kennedy VanNuil added her vision on how that works in Hamilton Varsity Cheer: “From this year to last year, I definitely think that we are more together as a team. There was a lot of drama last year, so we’re making sure that we are together and building each other up constantly, and that is the most important difference in our team.”
The new flyer, Allex Morse, talked about how important that is for her: “In cheerleading, everyone on the team is part of a whole. If one girl is off in a stunt group, the whole stunt will be off. So, teamwork is very important because everyone has to work together to get a stunt right.”
As it shows, our Hamilton Competitive Cheer team has been working hard despite the challenges. They are improving each day, driven by their dedication and love for the sport and their team, and can’t wait for the season to officially begin.
