Daniel Grabinski: A Thinker With A Sense Of Humor

Around Hamilton High School in the fall, Daniel Grabinski is known for running cross country.  However, you may not know all the other things that make up who Daniel Grabinski is.  There are a lot of things that he likes to do outside of cross country. We sat down with him and got an insight into what makes Daniel so much more than just a runner.

When you probe into how some would describe themselves in one word, you often see the insight into someone’s ability to think.

Following a pause, Daniel contemplatively answered “fun.”

It was a one word answer but based on that, it’s not just the time around his team that he was talking about.

The tenth-grade year, that year when you can start to drive and life seems to become more “adult-like” in a hurry, resonates with Daniel Grabinski.  It was that growth-based time period that he has enjoyed the most during his time in high school.

This could tell us that he found sophomore year of cross country was fun to him and it could tell us that he had great memories in sophomore year.

As with most competitive cross country runners, it is not a surprise that his favorite thing to do is run.  His answer and contemplative manner in discussing running was a clear look into the fact that he really likes cross country and that cross country is his jam.

“Favorite fast food?” Asked Haidan.

How do Wendy’s and away meets give an insight into the Hamilton junior?  He was quick to mention that those are things that don’t define him but off the course, he shows appreciation for the little things in his life.  Often times, those little things can give the casual observer a full view of who some is.

Daniel may not always be perceived as the loudest talk but he is one of the deeper thinkers in the hallways at Hamilton.  He’s fun and likes to be around his friends.  The tall and muscular junior has the rare ability to find the smallest detail and yet to be able to expound on that in a warm manner.

Pet peeves are something that most high school students deal with on a daily basis.  Daniel shared that his pet peeve was something encountered daily.

“I was just thinking about this the other day, slower walkers,” Grabinski reflected.

This answer is tied back to his favorite hobby, which shows that he likes to run a lot.

When asked about his season, he paused and then opened up the depth of knowledge container that most who talk with Daniel know is at the core of his communication style.

“I think we lost a lot of good runners this year, but I think we had fun even though we weren’t as good as last year. It was still a fun season.”

In closing, Daniel is one of Hamilton High School’s students who project a “Good Vibes Only” confidence.  He will return for his senior year and looks to continue one of his favorite things to do.
