With the 2023 Boys Soccer Season to an end, five seniors have played their final season of high school soccer. The leaving seniors this year are Diego Medellin, Seth Vigil, Bailey Nyhof, Trenton Prince, and Zinabu Dykstra. This group of seniors brought lots of energy and good memories to the team. Along with great personalities, they were also very competitive people who strived to do their best in every game.
The team will have to make some minor adjustments to fill in the gaps left by the graduating players. The team was particularly young with only four Seniors so it was made up of mostly Juniors and Sophomores. Because of this, there is tons of potential for next year’s team to be very successful. With a handful of underclassmen already on Varsity, a majority of the team will have more experience on Varsity which will make it easier to work together on the field. Some strong Juniors moving on to Seniors include Gavin Sabala and Keegan Johr who stood out as very strong and confident players as their dedication was shown throughout the games. The seniors will be missed as playing time and positions may change for some players.
Now that the season has ended, it is time for some off-season training to help further each individual’s skills. It may seem like a long time away, but every touch of the ball matters. The team is hoping to make it further in the conference next year but in order to do that, off-season practice is essential. Good luck to all the new and returning players in the season yet to come!
