What It Means To Be A Team Player

Being a student athlete is hard work. Needing to keep yourself in shape, putting in work day in and day out, while still supporting your team. But what happens when you go into the season with an injury, and how are you meant to recover and catch up?

This is what senior Joselyn Paskvan had to endure throughout her season. Having an injury in a sport is a tough thing to go through, having to be a part of the team without truly being on the team, but Joselyn seemed to have mastered this as Junior Brook Petroelje says,

“She had a lot of positive energy on the bench and always had a little celebration for anything that the team did well”.

She spent her season doing the best that she could being there for the team even though she couldn’t play and the team loved her for it, always being there at games and supporting the team as much as possible. Bringing the energy and the whole team together.

But even after she came back at the end of the season she still brought the energy. When most people might give up and except that there season is over, but even when odds were against her, she came back and put pressure on opposing teams and started being a threat on the court. As Grace Sexton said,

“Joselyn made a huge impact when she came back because she brought so much of her energy to the court, and played very aggressive!”

Showing that Joselyn is a great example of why dedicated athletes still try and put in as much effort as possible, even when odds are against them. Because that is what it truly means to be a part of a team.
