In a stunning display of talent and determination, Logan Eding, a Senior at Hamilton High School, has quickly become a force to be reckoned with, already shattering the school’s discus record and getting close to the shot put record as well, and setting the stage for a remarkable season.

Logan’s love for throwing all started because of football. Little did he know that this would lead to the beginning of his great success. Logan said, “I began throwing in hopes of getting stronger for football. I never really thought I’d be good at it.”

Logan has performed outstandingly so far this season, qualifying for state in both shotput and discus. Despite his success, Eding doesn’t plan to continue throwing in college; instead, he plans to go straight to the workforce.

When asked about balancing academics and athletics, Logan said, “ Athletics have always come first in my eyes, but I’ve always made sure to be academically eligible.”

To Logan, track and field isn’t a solo mission; teamwork plays a big role in his performance during meets. “I’m very big on teamwork, and I feel that it helps me and the others a lot just knowing we have each other’s backs and support each other.”

“During big meets, my teammates and coaches’ support helps me lock in and calm down so the pressure doesn’t get to me.”

Eding’s success does not just come from practice. Logan constantly lifts weights and eats right to keep improving and reach his goals of breaking both throwing records.

When asked about Logan’s progression, Coach Rohrer said, “I feel like he has put more focus and detail into practice, and he asks for support from his teammates. He’s more intentional in what he does, and he has a goal in mind.”

Coach Rohrer, along with all the other coaches, can’t wait to see Logan perform at state. They all know he can place high and could place first.

“I want him to get second, although I don’t see first being far out of his reach.”
