Making A Splash

Among the great divers at Hamilton High School, Jayden Bierschbach is climbing
to the top, and he is only getting better.
As I talk with Jayden Bierschbach, it’s surprising how some people may not know
his name yet. This hardworking sophomore is starting to stand out in our high school,
not just because of his talent but also because of his determination and perseverance.
While others chase the spotlight, Jayden is focused on improving his diving and
supporting his teammates. His journey is just beginning, and if he keeps going like this,
he’s bound to make a big impact both in the pool and in our school community.
What inspires Jayden? Jayden is a determined kid, but what is the reason he
started diving? The reason he started diving was because of his old babysitter. She was
a former diver for Hamilton, who inspired him to dive.
I was curious to find out what dives Jayden does and what struggles and
perfections he deals with
“Front double pike, front 2.5 tuck, back dive, back 1.5, reverse dive, reverse 1.5,
inward dive, inward 1.5, inward double, front flip with 2 twists, and from 1.5 with 1 twist.”
I also asked him what his struggle was, and he said he struggles with reverses
most of the time, but his favorites are Front 1.5 with 1 twist & reverse dive
I asked Jayden where he sees himself in a couple of years, and he said
“I see myself as top 5 in the state”
I feel that is a great goal for him because he is growing better and better, and I
also know he practices hard because I asked him what his main sport was and he said
diving so I think if he focus’ on diving he could be in the top 5 as a senior.
Jayden is a great diver, I wondered what he was going to do after high school.
He told me that he wants to go and dive in college at Grand Valley State University.
Overall, Jayden is a hardworking and determined kid with a bright future ahead of
him. He loves diving, and you can see how dedicated he is to getting better. It’s not just
about him though; he also encourages his teammates, which shows what a great guy he
is. I think that if he keeps pushing himself and practicing, he could be successful in this
sport. Jayden’s story reminds all of us that with hard work and support from friends, we

can achieve a lot. I can’t wait to see what he does next in diving and how he will inspire
others at our school.
