Evelyn Boeve, a key factor in this Girl’s Golf season. Even with the challenges she faced last year with injuries, Evelyn still came back better bringing a positive and strong mindset on and off the green for the other girls.
With the injuries Evelyn Boeve had to deal with last season, she was not able to play, and after interviewing some teammates it was said that she came back and played very well. That introduces you to what kind of player she is. She does not give up on herself and the team.
What’s Evelyn like? Evelyn is a two-sport athlete playing softball and Golf which is impressive since each season she has to find her swing because each sport involves two completely different movements.

“I was not a leader because I was one of the 2 younger girls on varsity, next year I might be more of a leader with only 2 or 3 seniors on the varsity team “
Evelyn is very knowledgeable when it comes to helping out the team and putting herself in the best position to help the team succeed. For example, she knows she is gonna have to step out of her comfort zone and become a leader because all the seniors are leaving.
Evelyn was also a very successful golfer this year and really proved herself as a key part of this team. This was acknowledged by the rest of the team. “Evelyn grew a lot throughout the season and cut around 10 strokes by the end of the season, she was also a super fun teammate to be around”, says Dani Wedeven. This is very important for a team to have people like Evelyn who show progress and are focused but also fun at the same time
How did Evelyn’s season go? Evelyn and her team struggled with their home course not cooperating with them. This affected her because they couldn’t practice all the times they wanted. Evelyn progressed through the season which is key when playing a sport. She also had very good teammates to help her get through the season and to keep her positive.

What are Evelyn’s thoughts on next season? she’s gonna have to step up and be a leader since she will be the only returning player to varsity. She is hoping for her team to be able to bounce back and push through the tough times in order to succeed and play well. She doesn’t want small problems and conflicts to hold their team back.
Throughout Evelyn’s golf journey she has had to deal with constant barriers and setbacks that would stop most young athletes from moving forward. Not Evelyn, she has fought through those barriers and figured out a way to better herself and the team as a whole. That just shows you what kind of person Evelyn is.
