After a strong 23-24 run, the boys swim and dive team is ready for the future. Here’s a look ahead to the 24–25 season.
Jackson Hansen, Owen Lewis, Gabe Langeland, Justin Strong, and Landen Maatman are all juniors who significantly contributed to the team’s successful season, and every single one of them is ready to fill a leadership role on the team.
Every one of these juniors has had a successful season this year, and we are all excited to see where another year of growing and developing in the sport takes this stud class in 2025.
Carson McIntire is leading the pack of seniors departing from the boys swim and dive team next year. Also leaving are star diver Jackson Miller and swimmers Trey Nyboer, Dave Hernandez-Lopez, and Avery Vandermuelen.
This was a great senior class with a lot of experience that brought good energy to the team. They were all good guys who cared for their school, coaches, and each other.
The sophomore class is a big asset for the team as key diver Brodie Brown places high for the team and gets points, and Jack Langeland is a key swimmer too, with him making state along with Brodie Brown making state along with him.
Matt Oonk is a valuable member of the boys swim and dive team. Next year is going to be his 8th year of coaching and his 4th year as head coach of the boys swim and dive team. He is improving as head coach each year and developing a competitive team. Both individually and together. He’s building them physically and mentally each time they meet and practice.
The Boys Swim and Dive team has a bright future ahead of them and plans to have some major growth from key rising players ready to fill open roles from departed seniors. The 24–25 season is bound to have some fun moments and has the makings of an amazing season.
