The Hamilton Wrestling team has had many great additions. Many are good simply by themselves but others work well in teams. But what is at the root of their success? Training, dieting, possibly pre match rituals? Well today we will find out.
Have you ever wondered what wrestlers do to improve throughout the off season? Well if you ever have it’s time to find out, although some might do crazy unconventional things, here at Hamilton they are more grounded and conventional. But that doesn’t explain what it really is. Some believe in the magical health serums that punch your nose with a pungent smell. But somehow don’t give you cancer from all the chemicals, well that isn’t the truth it’s all in your craft.
Bryce Morrison of Hamilton Community Schools is one of the top rated wrestlers with rank value of 0.956667 and with an incredible record of 68-21. He made it on Regionals as a Sophomore in high school and will continue on to the MHSAA Championships on March 2nd of 2024. Although not ranked he boasts a 3.5 star rating. What Bryce does to get ready for the wrestling season sounds fairly simple but is essential to his craft “ I continue to train outside of the wrestling season, and also go to tournaments that are outside Michigan.” said Bryce Morison.
Tyler Block is one of the best wrestlers in Hamilton with a respectable 3.5 star rating and a very respectable record of 36-22. With an impressive 23 pins, and taking 4th in the MHSAA Districts. Also with some more notable matches including the Falcon Invite, OK Blue Conference Tournament and the Falcon Invite A & B in which he placed 3rd, 3rd and 1st respectively. Tyler also boasts a 0.616667 rank value. “ I have made it further in individuals mainly by putting in extra effort. Training over the summer even when nobody knows that he is.” Tyler Block said.
Hamilton wrestling was on fire this season. With 4 people making the MHSAA Championships, working day or night, doesn’t matter. They were working so that they can be ready to succeed in the next season, So congratulations to the wrestlers on making the MHSAA Championship and keep on working.
