Jen Lambers is a remarkable senior in high school who is part of the varsity competitive cheer team. She has been competing since the 7th grade and has gained a lot of experience on the mat. Currently, her position in the team is a backspot, but she has also been a base before. Apart from cheerleading, Jen also actively participates in track and field.
Jen’s love for gymnastics and tumbling began when she was younger, and when she got to middle school, she was thrilled to find out that there was a cheerleading team. Since then, she has been an active member of the cheer team and has enjoyed every moment of it. Jen credits her parents and coaches for supporting her throughout her cheerleading journey.
She is someone all of the team looks up to and strives to be like. For everyone on the team, she is a great influence and mentor. One of Hamilton’s sophomores, Paige Mokma says this about Jen. “To me, Jen has always been someone I can look up to and talk to whenever I feel down about something. She’s an amazing cheerleader and I hope to see her back at our practices after she graduates.”
One of the most memorable experiences for Jen has been watching her teammates grow and develop individually and as a team. She finds it truly amazing to be a part of such a dedicated team. Jen’s favorite aspect of being on the team is getting closer to her teammates and the encouragement they give to each other.
Jen’s teammates have also watched her grow as a person and as a cheerleader. “I’ve watched her improve on so many things and she brings so much to the team not just in the skills she has but the attitude she has. She’s constantly encouraging others and helping others get higher skills and bettering herself, she has the mindset of always becoming better. There isnt another person i would’ve wanted to spend the last 8 years cheering with.” Izzy Ruggles
She says that her team is always willing to put in the hard work, even when the odds are against them. No matter what challenges they face, they always fight to the end. “Jen, so much to say about her. She’s an amazing cheerleader and person. She works hard and is always willing to help out her teammates. So many of the underclass girls look up to her. We’re lucky to have her on the team.” Coach Angie Cook. Jen is a true inspiration and a valuable member of her team.
