The 2024 Boys Cross Country team will be losing a lot of valuable seniors who have made a big impact on the Cross Country Program over the past four years. One senior, Josh Langeland who suffered with a broken foot and could not complete the season, was an extremely valuable runner and will be hard to replace. Other Senior runners, Brody Crandall, Evan Kraker, and Carson McItire have continuously been very successful and tend to finish among the top of the Varsity team. They have shown great leadership and willingness to work hard, which will require many other runners to step up in order to fill their void.
Looking into the 2024 season while losing around half of the varsity runners to graduating Seniors, the Boys Cross team has many younger runners who are looking to step up to the plate in order to have a successful season. Abatu Dykstra is an upcoming Senior who has shown major commitment to the program and has been a very reliable runner since his Freshman season. Dykstra has made it to individual state the past three years and has made his way to the top runner for the varsity team. Noah Hernandez has also been a key component for the team in the past, and looking forward to the 2024 season has a very high potential to be one of the top three runners. Ben Dykstra, Damian Widner, Jacob Chase and Kaden Dewys are also four upcoming Seniors who have shown to be extremely strong and improved runners over this past season. Even through their ups and downs, they have proven to stay committed and are turning into key assets for the team.
As the 2024 cross season gets closer, the Hamilton Boys Cross Country team is continuing to get in miles and training hard to better themselves for the future of Hamilton Cross Country!
