Out of the 776 students attending Hamilton High School, there are only 12 boys who play varsity tennis, including James Anderson. This makes him and his teammates a small but dedicated group of athletes who have worked hard to earn a spot on the varsity team.
James is a first-year varsity tennis player who played doubles with his partner, freshman Grayden Lubbers. At the end of the season, they had an impressive record of 24 wins and 7 losses. In a recent interview, he shared his thoughts on playing tennis and what he likes about it.
“I like the in-between, right after practice times when we just hang out for a while. I also like how we have a solid team that can be competitive with pretty much anybody.”
Ever since he was in first grade, he has been an avid tennis player. His passion for tennis was sparked by his parents, who played the sport, and his friends, who also played tennis. Over the years, James has refined his skills on the court and has become quite good at the sport. He enjoys playing tennis both as a way to stay active and as a social activity with his friends and family.
“Both my parents played tennis, it just made sense. And all of my friends were doing it, so I decided to give it a try.”
When asked about his experience playing tennis, James said he enjoys the challenge of the sport and the opportunity to compete against other players. He also mentioned the importance of teamwork and communication in doubles matches, which he finds both challenging and rewarding.
Overall, James seems to be enjoying his first year of varsity tennis and is looking forward to improving his game in the future. It’s great to see athletes like him taking on challenges and striving to be their best on the court.
