Jenna Dozeman, class of 2026, is on the Girls Cross Country team. This is her first year running cross in high school, but she did it one year in middle school.
Jenna likes this sport because she likes being with the team and getting to know new people. She also likes how cross pushes her to run more miles than she ever thought she could.
We were able to ask Jenna what motivates her to keep running in a previous interview.
“The finish line so I can be done because it is really exhausting, but it’s really fun to run with people.”
Jenna’s parents are a big part of her cross season. They give her rides to and from meets and practices. They also make sure she eats good food before she has to run. Jenna loves the team aspect of cross. “I like the team aspect about it,” Jenna said, “how everyone’s really nice and they push you to do your best and become a better person.”
Jenna is a two-sport athlete. She does cross country in the fall and track and field in the spring. She likes ketchup on her hotdog and would be a cheetah if she could. She hates the idea of pineapple on pizza and would switch bodies with Lydia Nelson. You could describe her personality as dino nuggets “…because they have chicken, which is normal, but they’re shaped like dinos which makes them different and cool” She also thinks that Cora would be the least likely to survive a zombie apocalypse because she is so nice and she would try to make friends with a zombie and it would eat her.
Jenna doesn’t know if she wants to go to college or not, and doesn’t know if she wants to play sports. We can’t wait to see how Jenna does this season and how she does in future seasons.
