Meet the Athlete: Seth Vigil, Boy’s Soccer

By: Maddie Klein

Starting from age nine, Seth Vigil is one of four senior captains on the Hamilton Varsity Boy’s Soccer Team. He is the Hamilton’s Varsity Soccer center mid-fielder. The Varsity Team has a variety of different grades and ages.

When a good dynamic exists within a group working toward a common goal, each individual member will perform effectively and achieve the goals set by the group.

Seth responded, “We all work together well and get along and the dynamic has definitely improved from last year.”

As a senior on the team, he is having a hard time believing that it is his last year and he wants to work hard and finish strong for his last year.

Seth loves to be a senior captain as it is a big responsibility to lead the team, help the underclassmen, and work together. He is delighted to have many friends on the team and to be able to build a connection with them on and off the field. When being able to make connections with teammates it helps the team work together.

The Hamilton Varsity Boy’s Soccer Team has a record of 4-9-1. For Seth and the team, it is not as good as they wanted it to be but as a soccer team, they have improved so much from last season. They making improvements and taking steps to a greater future. Seth is looking into playing soccer in college or amateur professional but is not sure.

Managing time between school and soccer Seth’s response was, “It’s hard to do so but I try to put school first and make sure I get my work done but stay focused on the season at the same time.”

Seth is saddened as his season is coming to an end. This is his last year on the Hamilton Varsity Boy’s Soccer Team.
