Meet the Athlete: Andrew Bierschbach, Boys Soccer

By Zoe Heneveld

Andrew (Drew) Bierschbach is one of nine juniors on the varsity Boys soccer team.

Drew has been playing soccer for nine years and this is his first year of varsity. They’re currently 4-5-1 in their season.

We were able to ask Drew in a previous interview about what motivates him to keep playing soccer.

“What motivates me the most is my friends and family. I want to perform well in front of them and make them proud.”

Drew currently plays right wing for the team. He loves being able to play with his friends and having fun at practices and games. He also likes how they are all friends and there is not much fighting between teammates.

“I really enjoy playing because it is very fun to play with friends,” Drew said. “When we connect passes and make good plays is when the game is most fun.”

It’s fun being able to watch the team play, especially because they work so well together. They are very good at communicating with each other on the field and they seem like one synchronized unit.

Drew likes ketchup and mustard on his hotdog and would be a peregrine falcon if he could. He hates the idea of pineapple on pizza and thinks Zinabu would be the least likely to survive a zombie apocalypse out of everyone on the team. His personality can be described as a pizza because he can have multiple moods and he would switch bodies with Tristan Patch, a junior as well.

Drew does not plan on playing soccer in college, but we are all excited to be able to watch him for the rest of the season and hopefully next year.
